WE BELIEVE IN HEALTH OVER WEALTH, BECAUSE NO PAYCHECK IS WORTH POISONED AIR OR WATER.

IT’S TIME TO PROTECT BENSON, AZ.

When decisions are made without us, we come together to protect what matters.
Benson, Arizona deserves a voice.

A billion-dollar corporation wants to build an aluminum casting facility right outside our town. They’re calling it “clean industry.” We’re calling it what it is: a threat to our health, to our water, and to our way of life. Aluminum Dynamics, a subsidiary of Steel Dynamics, is trying to fast-track this facility in Benson, Arizona. They claim it will bring jobs—but what they’re not telling you is the true cost to our health, our water, our rural way of life, and our children’s future.

The proposed location for this facility is across from a nursing facility, about a mile from the public schools, next to a residential area, and right along the San Pedro river. Emissions of hydrogen chloride, PM2.5, VOCs, sulfur dioxide, and more. It will use a minimum of 240 gallons of groundwater per minute, every minute of every day. With facilities like these comes an increased fire and explosion risk, something our town's infrastructure simply cannot support. Our town will see a permanent shift from agriculture and tourism to heavy industry.

We just want to breathe clean air, drink safe water, and not worry about what’s going into our kids’ lungs. This isn’t an attack on industry, it's heartfelt concern and empathy for the people of Benson. Help us make our voices heard if you care about about justice, safety, and public health-
 join the fight.

Wanna help,  but not sure where to start?

Aluminum Dynamics Inc. has received a Conditional Use Permit to construct an aluminum recycling facility/secondary smelter on the Union Pacific property in Benson. The Office of Attorney General has expressed concerned about the impacts of this facility upon the health, property and livelihoods the people of Benson and the environment, including the federally protected San Pedro National Riparian Area. Attorney Kris Mayes wants to hear directly from the citizens of Benson and surrounding communities.
Are you concerned about this project? How will it impact your lives and that of your family, friends and neighbors? What do you want your Attorney General to know?
